Hello. I’m helping to spread the word on the MBTA’s Green Line Extension (GLX) public art program and its open call for artists.

In conjunction with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), the Somerville, Medford and Cambridge Arts Councils will commission multiple artists to design an integrated art program for the Green Line Extension stations

This project seeks to contribute to the vibrancy of the GLX communities by investing in its local artists. Their success is one of many assets necessary for sustained community vitality. The artwork should enhance the sense of place in key areas experienced by the riding public and be integrated into the overall design of the stations.

The RFQ for this Public Art Commission is due Thursday, February 20, 2014. An information session is being held in Boston on February 6th, 2014 at the GLX Project Office, 100 Summer Street, Suite 250, Boston, MA 02110.

The RFQ can be found here:
http://greenlineextension.eot.state.ma.us/documents/RFQ_GLX_Arts.pdf

Please pass this information along to those who may be interested in the opportunity. More GLX Art Program details are available online at

Thank you!
